Why am I trying to sell you stuff?

You may notice brand names, companies and even downright sales pitches in some of my posts. I'm a biologist, not a salesman.

So what am I playing at?

Conservation needs money.

In a consistently underfunded field which needs a lot more support to have lasting impacts on wildlife, scientists need to find creative ways to make money.

By raising funds online, I can continue to travel to where help is needed most and work unpaid. This allows the organisations I work with to save their money and spend it where it's needed most.

Quality products that give back.

As an environmentalist, I am very careful about how I spend money and which organisations I choose to support.

This means I will only market merch that I personally use and believe in - products made sustainably, built to last, and created by responsible companies.

I especially look out for partners who reinvest part of their profits into wildlife conservation, habitat restoration or sustainable development. These include clothing and outdoor gear companies such as Madera Outdoor, One Species, Happy Earth Apparel, and Sand Cloud.

Honesty is imperative.

The whole point of my work is to help direct, introduce, and connect people with projects and organisations that fit them like a glove and work for real on-the-ground impact. Tight-knit relationships are vital to help drive towards common goals in conservation and sustainability.

This means I have to be 100% honest about what I'm describing to you - whether it's a volunteer project, a sanctuary, or a piece of gear - to make sure it's the right thing for you to invest your time and money into.

You can trust my reports and descriptions as my tried-and-tested seal of approval (or disapproval) - I will never push or support something I don't believe in.
